World Economic and Investment Forum China 2026 to Strengthen Nigeria–China Trade and Investment Partnerships By  National Brand Development and Made in Nigeria Project Office

The National Brand Development and Made in Nigeria Project Office, The Presidency, has unveiled plans for the World Economic and Investment Forum China 2026, a major international business initiative designed to strengthen economic cooperation between Nigeria, China and global markets.

The forum, which will feature Shanghai and Beijing editions, alongside a strategic stopover at the Taipei International Trade Fair in Taiwan, aims to promote investment, expand trade opportunities and showcase Nigeria's manufacturing, innovation and export potential to one of the world's largest economic regions.

With the theme "Connecting Nigeria, China & the World for Sustainable Growth & Prosperity," the initiative seeks to position Nigerian businesses for greater participation in international trade while attracting foreign direct investment into key sectors of the economy.

Strategic Engagement Across Three Major Asian Trade Platforms

The World Economic and Investment Forum China 2026 will be held alongside some of Asia's most influential trade exhibitions, providing Nigerian businesses with direct access to global investors, manufacturers, technology companies and international buyers.

The programme includes:

Beijing Edition

The Beijing edition will take place during the Global Digital Trade Expo from September 22–27, 2026, in Beijing, China.

This segment of the forum will focus on digital trade, innovation, technology, e-commerce, smart manufacturing and emerging business opportunities within the global digital economy.

It will provide Nigerian technology companies, manufacturers and service providers with opportunities to explore partnerships in one of the world's fastest-growing digital markets.

Shanghai Edition

The Shanghai edition will be held during the Shanghai Import & Export Expo from November 15–17, 2026, in Shanghai, China.

The event will serve as a major platform for Nigerian exporters to showcase Made-in-Nigeria products to international buyers while promoting trade, industrial collaboration and investment opportunities.

Participants will have the opportunity to connect with manufacturers, distributors, importers and investors seeking new business partnerships across Africa.

Taiwan Trade Fair Stopover

As part of the programme, delegates will also participate in the Taipei International Trade Fair, scheduled for November 6–8, 2026, in Taipei, Taiwan.

The stopover is expected to expose Nigerian businesses to additional opportunities in technology, manufacturing, industrial equipment and export development while expanding commercial relationships across Asia.

Promoting Made-in-Nigeria Products

The forum aligns with the objectives of the National Brand Development and Made in Nigeria Project Office, which seeks to promote indigenous products, strengthen local manufacturing and position Nigerian brands in international markets.

The initiative will showcase products and investment opportunities across several sectors, including:

  • Manufacturing.

  • Agriculture and agro-processing.

  • Textiles and garments.

  • Leather and footwear.

  • Technology and digital innovation.

  • Renewable energy.

  • Consumer goods.

  • Creative industries.

  • Industrial equipment.

The programme is expected to encourage greater patronage of Nigerian products while supporting export diversification beyond the oil sector.

Creating Investment Opportunities

The World Economic and Investment Forum will provide participating businesses with opportunities to:

  • Build global business networks.

  • Attract foreign direct investment.

  • Explore trade partnerships.

  • Promote innovation and technology.

  • Expand export markets.

  • Engage in business-to-business meetings.

  • Identify manufacturing collaborations.

  • Facilitate knowledge and technology transfer.

These engagements are expected to strengthen commercial relationships between Nigerian enterprises and Asian investors while opening new channels for industrial cooperation.

Supporting Nigeria's Industrialisation Agenda

The forum complements the Federal Government's Nigeria First Policy, which promotes local production, industrial development and economic diversification.

By connecting Nigerian businesses with international markets, the initiative aims to increase exports, improve manufacturing competitiveness and create employment opportunities through expanded industrial activity.

The programme also reflects the growing economic relationship between Nigeria and China, one of the country's largest trading partners and a major source of infrastructure financing and industrial investment.

Driving Sustainable Economic Growth

Beyond trade promotion, the forum seeks to encourage sustainable economic development through innovation, entrepreneurship and international collaboration.

Participants will gain valuable exposure to global market trends, emerging technologies and investment strategies that can enhance the competitiveness of Nigerian businesses in the international marketplace.

The organizers believe that stronger economic cooperation with China and other Asian economies will contribute significantly to Nigeria's long-term industrial transformation.

Event Schedule

According to the event announcement, the programme will include:

  • Beijing Edition: Global Digital Trade Expo, September 22–27, 2026, Beijing, China.

  • Taipei Stopover: Taipei International Trade Fair, November 6–8, 2026, Taipei, Taiwan.

Looking Ahead

The World Economic and Investment Forum China 2026 represents a strategic initiative by the National Brand Development and Made in Nigeria Project Office to deepen Nigeria's engagement with Asian markets while promoting Made-in-Nigeria products on the global stage.

By participating in three major international trade platforms, Nigerian manufacturers, exporters, entrepreneurs and investors will have the opportunity to forge strategic partnerships, attract investment and expand access to one of the world's most dynamic economic regions.

As Nigeria continues to pursue industrialisation, export diversification and sustainable economic growth, initiatives such as the World Economic and Investment Forum China 2026 are expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening the country's global competitiveness and positioning Nigerian businesses for long-term success in international markets.
