Nigeria Water Week 2027: A Joint Call for Health, Water, and Agricultural Transformation by Made in Nigeria Project Office, Abuja
The Nigeria Water Week is set to return in March 2027 with a landmark event: the 5th Annual National Stakeholders Conference on Health, Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Security Development.
This year’s theme is clear and action-driven: “We use water industry for health, agriculture development to guarantee our food security.”
The conference represents a joint sectoral annual forum bringing together the health, water, and agricultural sectors under one roof. For the first time in this format, stakeholders from three critical pillars of national development will align their strategies around a shared resource, water.
The event will focus on three interconnected outcomes:
- Healthy Communities – Recognizing that access to clean water and sanitation is the foundation of public health.
- Sustainable Water Resources– Ensuring Nigeria’s water supply is managed responsibly for generations to come.
- Strong Agriculture & Food Security – Leveraging water efficiency to boost crop production and reduce reliance on imports.
The message is bold: without water, there is no health. Without water, there is no agriculture. And without both, there is no food security.
As Nigeria faces mounting challenges from climate variability, population growth, and pressure on arable land, this joint forum is both timely and necessary. By breaking down silos between ministries and sectors, the conference aims to produce practical, cross-cutting solutions.
The closing line of the conference branding says it all: “Working Together for a Sustainable Nigeria.”
As March 2027 approaches, all eyes will be on how Nigeria’s water industry can be harnessed, not just as a utility, but as a strategic driver of health, agriculture, and national resilience.
