National Coordinator of Made in Nigeria Project Office Visits Qatar Embassy to Strengthen Economic and Investment Relations

The National Coordinator of the Made in Nigeria Project Office (MAiNPro) recently paid a strategic visit to the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Abuja as part of ongoing efforts to deepen economic cooperation, promote Nigerian products, and strengthen bilateral trade relations between Nigeria and Qatar.

The visit reflects the Made in Nigeria Project Office’s commitment to creating international opportunities for Nigerian manufacturers, exporters, entrepreneurs, and investors by building partnerships with foreign governments, diplomatic missions, and global business communities.

Promoting Nigerian Products on the Global Stage

During the engagement, discussions focused on exploring avenues for increasing the visibility and market access of Nigerian-made products within Qatar and the broader Middle East region.

The National Coordinator highlighted the growing capacity of Nigerian industries across sectors such as agriculture, food processing, textiles, leather products, manufacturing, technology, creative industries, and consumer goods. Emphasis was placed on the need to strengthen export channels and create new opportunities for Nigerian businesses seeking to access international markets.

The visit also provided an opportunity to showcase the objectives of the Made in Nigeria Project, which aims to encourage local production, boost national competitiveness, create jobs, and reduce dependence on imported goods.

Strengthening Bilateral Economic Cooperation

A key aspect of the discussions centered on expanding economic collaboration between Nigeria and Qatar through trade promotion, investment facilitation, and business-to-business partnerships.

Both sides explored opportunities for greater engagement between Nigerian and Qatari investors, particularly in sectors that offer strong growth potential, including agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure development, logistics, tourism, and renewable energy.

The meeting underscored the importance of leveraging diplomatic relationships to unlock commercial opportunities that can contribute to sustainable economic development in both countries.

Encouraging Investment in Nigeria’s Productive Sectors

The National Coordinator emphasized Nigeria’s vast investment opportunities and the growing policy focus on industrialization, local content development, and value-added production.

The Made in Nigeria Project Office continues to advocate for increased foreign direct investment into sectors capable of generating employment, expanding exports, and strengthening Nigeria’s productive capacity.

Engagements with diplomatic missions such as the Qatar Embassy form part of a broader strategy to connect Nigerian businesses with international markets and investors while promoting the country's emerging role as a manufacturing and trade hub in Africa.

Expanding International Partnerships

The visit further reinforced the importance of international collaboration in advancing the objectives of the Made in Nigeria initiative. Strategic partnerships with foreign governments, development institutions, chambers of commerce, and investment agencies are increasingly becoming vital tools for expanding the global footprint of Nigerian products and services.

Such engagements also create platforms for knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and investment partnerships that can support Nigeria’s long-term economic transformation agenda.

Advancing the Made in Nigeria Vision

The Made in Nigeria Project Office remains focused on promoting a production-driven economy where locally manufactured goods are not only consumed domestically but also compete successfully in international markets.

By strengthening diplomatic and commercial ties with countries such as Qatar, the initiative seeks to open new pathways for trade, attract investment, and position Nigerian products as globally competitive brands.

The visit to the Qatar Embassy represents another important step toward achieving these objectives and advancing Nigeria’s vision of industrial growth, export expansion, and sustainable economic development through the promotion of proudly Nigerian products.
