National Brands and Products Fair (NBP) Expo 2026 in Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria, Organized by Made in Nigeria, Abuja, in Collaboration with Globe Chamber of Commerce
First, it was Antalya, Türkiye. Then, Deqing, China. Now, the National Brand & Products (NBP) Expo** is bringing the energy back home.
From September 21st to 25th, 2026, all eyes will turn to the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, Abia State, as Nigeria hosts its own flagship exhibition and economic forum. And this time, the message is both a homecoming and a declaration:
"NIGERIA MADE IT. NIGERIA PROUD OF IT."
Why Umuahia?
Abia State, and especially its commercial capital Aba, has long been known as the "Japan of Africa," a relentless hub of indigenous manufacturing, shoemaking, garment production, and innovation. By choosing Umuahia, the organizers are making a powerful statement: The "Made in Nigeria" movement is not just Abuja or Lagos. It lives in the workshops, factories, and farms of the Southeast and every corner of the nation.
Hosting the expo at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, provides a modern, accessible venue for local and international visitors to witness firsthand what Nigerian enterprise truly looks like.
Two Nigerian Heroes Take Center Stage
Once again, two-star products feature prominently in the promotional material:
Nigerian Coffee
From the highlands of Plateau, Taraba, and Ekiti states, Nigerian coffee is gaining recognition for its bold, distinctive flavor. The expo will showcase locally roasted, packaged, and branded coffee ready to compete on any shelf.
Nigerian Honey
Pure, raw, organic, and often richer than imported alternatives. Nigerian honey, from forest regions to savannah zones, represents a multi-billion-naira industry waiting for structured off-takers and exporters.
The New Trinity: Innovation, Sustainability, Nigerian Pride
The flyer introduces three powerful values that will drive the Umuahia expo:
| Value | What It Means for the Expo |
| INNOVATION | From Aba-made machinery to upcycled fashion. Nigerian producers are problem-solvers. |
| SUSTAINABILITY | Eco-friendly packaging, ethical sourcing, and products that don't harm the planet. |
| NIGERIAN PRIDE | No more hiding behind foreign labels. We stand behind what we make. |
A Five-Day Economic Forum, Not Just a Fair
This is not a weekend market. The five-day event (21st – 25th September) includes:
- Exhibition booths for manufacturers, farmers, and creative entrepreneurs
- Economic forums on export readiness, financing, and policy
- B2B matchmaking connecting local producers with Nigerian and international buyers
- Product pitch sessions for emerging brands
- Networking dinners with government officials, chamber leaders, and investors
Open to All
Just like the international editions, the Umuahia expo is OPEN TO ALL:
- Nigerian manufacturers (small, medium, and large)
- International buyers visiting Nigeria
- Diaspora investors looking for authentic products to take abroad
- Students, researchers, and policymakers
- Anyone who believes in a prosperous, self-reliant Nigeria
Who Is Behind This?
The National Brand Development and "Made in Nigeria" Project Office (Abuja) continues its national mandate. Their office is located at: B53 Ground Floor, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Three Arms Zone, Abuja

Why This Expo Matters More Than the Others
The international expos in Türkiye and China are about projection, showing the world what Nigeria can do.
The Umuahia expo is about foundation, strengthening the base. It says:
Before we conquer global markets, we must first celebrate, support, and grow our own ecosystem at home.
If Nigerian products cannot gain traction in Umuahia, Enugu, Onitsha, or Port Harcourt, how will they succeed in Shanghai or Istanbul? The home expo is the proving ground, the confidence booster, and the launchpad.
