Asia–Africa Summit 2026 to Strengthen Industrial Partnerships Between Two Continents,  organized by the Made in Nigeria Project Office (MAiNPro) in partnership with the Globe Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).

The Asia–Africa Summit 2026 is set to take place from October 15 to October 17, 2026, in  Deqing, China, bringing together policymakers, investors, and industry leaders to accelerate industrial collaboration between Asia and Africa.

The summit is being organized by the Made in Nigeria Project Office (MAiNPro) in partnership with the Globe Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI). The event is also being hosted under the auspices of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, highlighting Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening global industrial partnerships.

Event Theme and Vision

The summit will be held under the theme “Bridging Continents: Driving Industrial Transformation.”

Unlike traditional diplomatic gatherings, the forum aims to prioritize practical industrial cooperation and investment partnerships, promoting a shift toward “Production over Consumption.”

The broader goal is to position Nigeria as a manufacturing hub and strategic gateway to Africa’s growing market.

Strategic Focus Areas

The Asia–Africa Summit will concentrate on several pillars designed to deepen economic ties and stimulate industrial development.

Industrial Synergy
The summit will facilitate joint-venture manufacturing initiatives and encourage the establishment of localized production hubs across Africa, enabling Asian technology and capital to combine with African market opportunities.

Trade Rebalancing
Participants will explore ways to increase non-oil exports from Africa, particularly by leveraging zero-tariff treatments and trade facilitation measures for products such as processed agricultural goods and industrial materials.

Sector Development
Discussions will focus on critical sectors that drive economic growth:

  • Energy: Renewable energy systems and grid modernization

  • Healthcare: Medical equipment manufacturing and pharmaceutical production

  • Water Infrastructure: Sustainable water development and management solutions

Digital Transformation
The summit will also explore opportunities to integrate African businesses into global e-commerce corridors, while promoting harmonized digital trade policies that support cross-border online commerce.

Broader 2026 International Engagements

The Asia–Africa Summit forms part of a broader international economic diplomacy initiative spearheaded by MAiNPro throughout 2026.

Key engagements include:

  • Manama – Nigeria–Bahrain Summit (April 1–5, 2026)

  • Abuja – Nigeria Infrastructure & Manufacturing Summit (May 18–20, 2026)

  • Istanbul – Nigeria–Turkey Summit (June 3–7, 2026)

  • Singapore – Nigeria–Singapore Summit (June 15–20, 2026)

These engagements aim to expand market access for Nigerian manufacturers, attract foreign direct investment, and promote industrial development across the country and the wider African continent.

Outlook

The Asia–Africa Summit 2026 represents an important step in strengthening economic ties between two rapidly evolving regions. By fostering partnerships between African producers and Asian investors, the summit is expected to support industrialization, trade diversification, and long-term economic growth.
