In a significant push towards economic self-reliance, the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency Idris Mohammed, has called for renewed efforts to promote Nigerian-made products and stimulate local industries. He emphasized that for Nigeria to establish itself as a global manufacturing powerhouse, it must focus on building its national brand and reducing dependency on foreign goods.

The Deputy Governor made this call while addressing participants at the Made in Nigeria Project for Northern States Coordinators meeting in Abuja. As the Special Guest of Honour, he urged coordinators to prioritize awareness campaigns, facilitate information sharing, and educate local producers on legitimate export processes. By doing so, he noted, the initiative could strengthen the local economy, boost industrial production, and encourage domestic patronage.

The Made in Nigeria Project (MAINPRO) is a visionary initiative designed to promote indigenous products, create jobs, and foster economic growth by enhancing local manufacturing.
